Color Theory - $175.00 / Month

You will learn the principles of a double primary palette and the manipulation of hue by tint, tone and shade and complimentary colors. Students should expect high-level instruction. Class sizes are limited to 10-12 students, so there will be plenty of opportunities for individual guidance.

Value Theory / Tonal Plan - $175.00 / Month
(Tuesday 1-4PM)
You will learn the 4 basic plans that represent the direction of light and how to paint them in sequential order. There is an old saying, “Value does all the work, and color gets all the credit.” Once you understand the principles of value, it will change the way you paint, forever. Students should expect high-level instruction. Class sizes are limited to 10-12 students, so there will be plenty of opportunities for individual guidance.

Open Studio- $175.00 / Month
(Wednesday 1PM - 4PM)
Open studio allows a student to work on their own compositions from a preliminary sketch to the finished artwork, with guidance from Phil. Bring what you are currently working on and Phil will offer critique and options for proceeding to the next step. Students should expect high-level instruction. Class sizes are limited to 10-12 students, so there will be plenty of opportunities for individual guidance.

Learn how to minimize form while painting outside. Learn the structure of how to proceed with a background, middle ground and foreground and the value sequence to produce atmospheric perspective.
